      Mission Statement

      It is our mission

      to be home to people

      whose options may be limited

      by poverty, disability, age

      or other unjust cause

      through the provision

of affordable, clean, quiet and safe shelter.

      This we undertake

as an expression of our Christian faith.

      Testimonial #1

You often make the difference between an outpatient being able to retain their housing, or being forced into the street…adding units specifically aimed at persons who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing, is a benefit for both our clients and the community at large.” John Trainor, CAMH

      Testimonial #2

“Parkdale needs more safe. Well-managed neighbour-friendly affordable housing. We can’t think of any organization with a better record of providing this kind of housing than Phoenix Place.” The Rev, Jim Houston, The Anglican Church of Epiphany and St. Mark Parkdale

I was a tenant at Phoenix place for 7 years. Thanks to having a stable residence, I was able to sponsor my wife to immigrate to Canada. I lived at Phoenix Place for another three years while my wife and I saved up enough to put a down payment on a condominium. Thanks to Parkdale United Church Foundation for making this possible.

I've lived in Phoenix Place for almost 40 years, this building is like a family to me. The staff is amazing; Elena is kind and helpful, Steve is always able to lend a helping hand and Predrag is warm and welcoming. I love that there is a Church right downstairs, it is very convenient. I also love the location, it is convenient for me to get around the city.

I moved to Canada not long ago and applied to Phoenix Place. I was on the waitlist for a while and finally moved in. I lived there in comfort for 4 years while I put money aside from my cheques. Not long ago, I was able to buy a home of my own!

I was on the waitlist for 3 years and finally moved in not long ago. I was so lucky to move here, it's so clean, my neighbours are friendly and I love having laundry in the building and the staff is excellent, always trying their best to help all their tenants.
