Performance monitoring ensures the continued optimal operation of new building systems, and provides the information necessary to evaluate how well the project achieves the expected outcomes.
In the case of the Green Phoenix project, expected outcomes were defined through a community-based process, resulting in a set of goals that shaped the work to come. In November 2011, working with Setpoint Controls, the building automation contractor, the Parkdale United Church Foundation has established ongoing performance monitoring of the building systems.

The core of this effort is a publicly visible accumulated data from the site. Current system data is provided directly by the building automation system. The key elements are:

 Graphical interfaces showing system components, with information about energy production or used by each.
 Cumulative data for each component: by day, month, and year.
 Graphs showing cumulative data charted against outside conditions (temperature and heating degree days)
 Charts showing historical utility use data.
